Michelle Way for Senator

What experience and qualifications do you have?

My closest experience with as a senator would be my role as Supreme Court judge of a middle school English class play-act. However, I have been a representative during summer leadership conferences and qualify as a calm listener with an ready hand. I have seen the finance board in action, so I have a sense of how meetings proceed.

What is your platform? What do you hope to accomplish if you win?

Lowering food costs. Lowering tuition costs. No forced meal plans. Encourage increased organization advertising and communication. Encourage student involvements on campus. Providing more convenient and organized transport to outside activities. Building parking spaces. Support funding for more "hot-spots" (i.e. rock garden) Increasing interaction between students of different class standings. Increasing interaction between students of different majors. Helping UMBC become a club and activity infested community.

What I really want students to know about me is….

I don't bite. I am open for all suggestions and hope to recreate UMBC as a home to all students.

Platform Summary:
  • Stop increasing the price of food. Don't go hungry or be forced to purchase a meal plan.
  • Provide more free transport to outside sites. It is time to spread the love.
  • Increase student awareness - to sites, to organizations, and especially to each other! Adequate advertisement is key.
