What experience and qualifications do you have?
I have been an active member of the SGA since my first semester at UMBC. My experience serving in the organization has provided me with a unique perspective when addressing problems that arise. While serving as a Finance Board Representative my first year, I gained valuable insight on the SGA funding process. As the Treasurer this past year, I have established a clear line of communication between student organizations and business services. Besides my current role in SGA, I am also a Resident Assistant, which has placed me a central location to provide students with resources to get involved in student life here.
What is your platform? What do you hope to accomplish if you win?
I want to advance the transparency between the SGA Finance Board and student organizations. It’s essential that all organizations understand the reasons behind finance board decisions and the policies that the board abides by. I will also ensure that the SGA budget is balanced accordingly so that we may effectively support the student body. My goal for the upcoming year is to reach out to more student organizations and provide them with the resources they may need to function, and create or host events on campus.
What I really want students to know about me is….
I am passionate about student life on campus and am an avid believer in the importance of collaboration between organizations in creating exceptional events!
Platform Summary:
- Increase transparency between student organizations and the SGA Finance Board.
- Increase and spread awareness of SGA resources to student organizations.
- Advocate and implement more payment methods for student organizations to select during the event planning process.
