What experience and qualifications do you have?
I served as a student Senator at Montgomery College for 2years prior to transferring to UMBC in the fall of 2009. In addition to being a full time student majoring in Social Work, I am also an aspiring standup Comedian. I think that laughter and humor are essential and needed in all areas of life. I am serious, and have specific ideas in being a potential voice of the student body in what needs to be done, to make the experience of students here even better.
What is your platform? What do you hope to accomplish if you win?
I am going to enhance student’s experience. This will be accomplished by working with the UMBC Administration to expand the gym facility specifically improving equipment, and purchasing new machines. I plan on working with SEB and potential nearby colleges to add programs such as a pre Spring Break Bash. I would also like to create more activities on weekends for students who live on campus such as dance parties, festivals, concerts, and other cultural events. One of the significant initiatives I would like to continue would be to work with student organizations that reach out to the Baltimore Community, and organize a campaign to get as many students as would like to interested and excited about being a part of this wonderful and extremely rewarding experience.
What I really want students to know about me is….
I really enjoy talking to students here and learning more about their experience. I am a transfer student and I have enjoyed my experience at UMBC being a up and coming standup comedian who performs at the Sports Zone on campus for Open Mic. If elected I plan on continuing the rich tradition of the SGA of helping to represent students on campus. I will ensure that your needs are taken care of your ideas are valued, and your voice is heard, the end result will be together you and I will make change happen.
